
Flight VB755 of Viva Aerobus, which departed from Miami, Florida, heading to Mérida, Yucatán, had to be diverted to Havana, Cuba, due to a failure in one of the engines during the journey on May 6. The pilot detected an anomaly that required an emergency landing at José Martí International Airport in the Cuban capital.
All passengers of flight VB755 arrived safely in Mérida, Yucatán, at 1:23 AM on Thursday. The airline reported that the diversion was carried out in a controlled manner after a low oil pressure in the aircraft's engine was detected.
During their stay in Havana, passengers received attention in the Last Wait Lounge, where they were provided with food and assistance while awaiting their transfer. Viva Aerobus sent a rescue aircraft to complete the journey to Mérida safely, following international safety protocols.
