A sanctioned Russian oil tanker is transporting over 700,000 barrels of oil to Cuba as the island suffers blackouts under a U.S. economic blockade, maritime trackers said Wednesday. The 'Anatoly Kolodkin' loaded 730,000 barrels of crude in the Russian port of Primorsk on March 8, and at 16:00 GMT on Wednesday was in the eastern Atlantic heading to Cuba, according to maritime analytics firm Kpler, as reported by DW and Argentine news agency Noticias Argentinas. The company noted that the Russian-flagged vessel, owned by Russian state shipping company Sovcomflot, was scheduled to discharge at the Matanzas oil terminal in northern Cuba around March 23. Another tanker, the 'Sea Horse' under the Hong Kong flag, loaded nearly 200,000 barrels of diesel in late January off Cyprus from another vessel, according to Kpler data. The 'Sea Horse' left the Mediterranean on February 13 and has since been sailing west across the Atlantic, reducing speed between late February and early March and following an erratic route, the tracker indicated.
