Pablo expressed disappointment to the authorities, asking why the old people who fought for the revolution are now left in such terrible conditions. "Why did we fight? We fought there, we fought here, and we have been forgotten," he sadly noted. The pensioner laments the lack of opportunities and assistance from the government, noting that his house regularly gets flooded.
Such complaints are not unique – many elderly Cubans find themselves in similar situations.
