The administration of President Donald Trump has initiated the process of transferring detained immigrants to the Guantanamo Bay airbase in Cuba. The first group of immigrants subjected to this procedure has already been sent. This has become part of the strategy to combat illegal immigration conducted by the Trump administration.
In an interview this Sunday, the initial representative of the protective process assured the press that this step is the first in history and that currently there are several dozen detained immigrants at Guantanamo. A representative of the administration stated that this step aims to prevent additional attempts at illegal migration across the border.
"We will not allow our country to suffer from illegal immigration. This step is a clear signal for those who intend to violate the law," noted the representative of the administration.
